GregFingers was born on the 20th of April, 1976, in the South of France.
Drenched in music since he was a child, he starts with classical music by learning to play various instruments.
Alongside these studies, he discovers new technologies : synthesizers, samplers, computers, … Instant love ! He decides to entirely commit himself to it and to get acquainted to Djing, all the while staying a musician at heart, mastering many instruments.
Always in search of new sounds, he starts a musical trip around the world to meet anonymous artists and find distant sounds, and is regularly invited to collaborate on various projects (Sunrise, IndigoNation, Hands, …), to build ties, share experiences, and avoid locking himself up in one specific style. Familiar with London House parties, he discovers Trance in Ibiza… A revelation !
His passion for electronic music grows, and he builds his own studio to work on his first productions, inspired by such artists as Massive Attack, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, William Orbit… Described by his fellow musicians, as well as by his audience, as a sound architect, Gregfingers cultivates difference and eclecticism…
By defiance, or a will to stand out… He starts establishing his reputation in the world of compilations in 2007 with « Vivre Mobile », realized for SFR. Follows naturally the triple compilation of La Plage Des Bikinis, Le Clos Des Oliviers, and, to be released very soon, the compilation for the Carnet De Vol brand, which chose him to celebrate its 20th birthday. His compilations will surprise you, and leave you with a timeless memory. They will take you on a voyage through his inspirations, from Tango to Trip Hop, via Opera… Always faithful to his motto : « Music does not make the place, the place makes the music ».
